Dear Contestants,
As the owner of Mixology Warehouse, I would like to extend an invitation to you to enter this unique essay contest opportunity. If you find that you are wearisome of your everyday 'humdrum' life, this is your calling!
Do you have a fair to good credit background?
Would you like to own your own business?
Would you like to live and work in the US Virgin Islands?
Nineteen years ago I lived in Annapolis, Maryland. I reached a point where I was finally fed up with the cold, damp winters and doing the same thing year after year as the General Manager of "Liberty Yacht Club", located on the South River just south of Annapolis. In January of 1989 I decided to pack up my boat and sailed to St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands, at which point I ran Caneel Bay Shipyard for three years. Concurrently, I started "Noah's Little Arks", a flourishing dinghy rental business, which I ran for eight years. My next venture was building and opening "Banana Deck Restaurant" with 2 partners. I sold "Noah's Little Arks" and two years later sold my interest in "Banana Deck". Both businesses are still on-island and remain successful to this day.
I then started "Mixology Warehouse", a liquor store with service. I am now into my sixth year and my boat "Dulcinea" and I are itching once again to embark on our next adventure. Dulcinea seems to think that the time has come for a hull out and refit and to be out sailing the open water once again. Hence, this essay contest!
This time I figured I would offer somebody the opportunity to own their own successful turnkey business for a mere $100. One person of 8000 will win a fully-stocked established business with $300 in the cash drawer to open up the doors immediately with the first three months rent paid. I will remain with the winner and store for a period of one week at no cost, and will be available for a longer period if necessary (and at a reasonable price). You'll be walking into a five (5) year lease with the option for five more. There is plenty of growth potential, and I can share a number of ideas I have considered during my time in this business.

I have chosen to limit the eligible participants of this contest to residents of the 50 United States with the hope that the winner is one who is ready to break out of a 'rut' and is ready to start a new life in paradise.
So, in 100 to 200 words, tell us about yourself - who you are, your goals, and why you feel that this opportunity is for you! A good sense of humor and work ethic is a prerequisite!
